Cultivating the restorative power of yoga across communities.
I began practicing yoga in 2009 after graduating college. My loosely defined plans involved traveling and figuring something out career-wise along the way. I spent several months in India which holds a special place in my heart as it was where the initial seed to become a yoga teacher was planted.
Following my travels I worked in internal medicine, cardiology, cancer and neurology research. My professional work and personal passions have now merged and brought me to a place of wondrous fulfillment: helping individuals achieve optimum health, body & mind.
My approach to teaching is compassionate while direct and informative. I teach gentle, hatha, vinyasa and restorative yoga for adults and teenagers. When teaching teens I use adapted breathing and meditation techniques to help cultivate mindfulness. Yoga for teens focuses on relevant themes such as self-confidence, self-care, kindness, compassion, anger, forgiveness and the yoga of eating.
I believe that it is necessary to create an atmosphere where students can find his or her own way to and with yoga and it brings me joy to share the transformative power of yoga with you .
